I'm a former student at Bellevue Community College. One of the teachers completely harrassed me in front of the whole class every class day. I wrote to the school about it and the teacher was NOT penalized in any way. Instead, the letter could be in my file for any future schools to read. This teacher told the class very frequently VERY personal info, some of which was true and some was NOT. He would talk about my tests in front of the class (but no one else's). He would make up bad stories about the guy I had a crush on and tell the whole class these stories (such as murder stories). He would say my ex-bf is stalking me and wants to kill me. He would even say things like if I took the final my car would get smashed in and I would die. This happened a couple of years ago and I still don't feel a sense of closure, especially since he didn't face any consequences. Any ideas?

I'm not sure how things work in America -- but you need to take this up with your local M.P --- there's to much of this ' crap ' going on even over my side of the world .
but look talk to your local member --- who in turn should be able to raise the issue with the college's hierarchy -- there is a serious breach of privilege gone on here and it needs to be sorted --- because you might not be the only victim --- i know it's only a small paragraph --- but i do hope it's a start for you to get somewhere --- to indeed find closure --- i could waffle on but seriously believe you need to take action asap
good luck
just one other thing --- did you keep a diary --- if you did treasure it .

Well does he still teach there? These accusations are very serious and could seriously damage his reputation. First I would contact him, via email and explain that what he did was very inappropriate and completely out of line. Describe how it felt for you in the class and how uncomfortable it was to you. Make sure he knows how he feel about the incident. If his response is sincere and you feel satisfied than I might drop it.

If not then go talk to the provost or dean or whoever you have to talk to make sure some official in the school knows. You should have never wrote to someone; people are much more responsive when you talk to them face to face. While I can see that this still bothers you to this day you have to see if it is worth putting yourself through all of this trouble to reprimand this professor. You have to realize that unless you have some type of proof (and this professor has a history of misconduct), then it is just your word against his.

Well I hope you get that closure you were looking for.

since its not likely you will ever get this guy into any form of court or before any type of a review board. i would recommend catching him in a public place and tell him what he did to you and how it affected you that way least passersby will no what a creep this guy is but make sure you have proof of your allegations would not want to get introuble for slander.
