to increase or add more memory to your laptop, you would need to find out: how much you already have (installed), how much can you have (the max), and what type it uses. Head to http://crucial.com, let it scans, then it will tell you everything I just mentioned in the questions. Write them down, especially the one that looks similar like this: DDR PC3200, or DDR2 PC5400, etc... this is the type of memory your laptop uses. Say, your computer said you can have upto 2gig of ram (memory), and you want to max them out, so buy 2 sticks of RAM of 1gig each. Turn your computer over, unscrew one of the cover, remove the old one out with the 2 side locks, replace with the new ones in, push it down into lock position. You're done! Now, if your computer came with 512mb, and u want to upgrade to 2gig, then you would have to remove this 512 mb ram stick out, but if it already has 1gig, then u just need to buy 1 more of 1gig.

Find out what kind of memory you need, there should be a door on the underside of the laptop that allows you access to the memory, purchase a new stick of the same kind and install it. Or you could take you laptop to a computer shop and have them do it for your.

The easiest way is to use the free program at
http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/ to let you know what you have, and what your board will support.
Warning: be choosy who you purchase memory through, some people (eBayish) are sending out low quality memory. I suggest you get it from a quality vendor.
To install is usually removing one screw to open the door.
