I think all dreams mean something in some form of sense. I have been having alot of weird dreams myself as far as "the end of the world", "genocide", and people close to me dying or getting hurt. I actually just woke up myself from having a dream about my 22 year old brother getting killed in Iraq. He is a soldier and he hasnt gone to Iraq yet but if the time ever comes where he must go I will kidnap him and not let him. I never heard of having a dream like that means long life...I would think its the other way around but our dreams are in our subconscious mind and therefor things we think about mixed up with other things. If you continue to have dreams like this then maybe you should talk to a counselor about it. Search dreams on the net and you will find a whole bunch of things that can give you more insight about it. Has your father recently gotten sick? Do you take him for advantage? I dont know exactly what can make us all dream what we do but I do think it comes from our inner self and a higher power as well...maybe its a way someone telling you to hold the ones close to you and not take them for granted. who knows- gl to ya

Some people(specially our ancestors) say that if we see any1 dying in our dream then that person is blessed by long life. Its there believe.
Acc to Science this theory does not have any bases. It believes that our mind is responsible 4 these dreams. If we are depressed or very happy, that is the current emotion of ours develop these images called dreams.

I don't know about the long life, but I do know that everytime I dream that someone has died, it signals that we are going to have an argument. Usually, it's very nasty, and/or bitter, and it usually means the end of the friendship.
Hug your dad some more regardless.

Dreaming of death. When its you it symbolises a change, maybe a new lease on life. Turning the page to a new chapter. When its somebody else it can be change again. Or as others have said a fading relationship. Dreaming of death is nothing bad, it just means something is different.

To me it means that you are concerned for this person and that you care about them. I had a dream that my dog was jealous of my parrot and when I came home from work there was my dog laying on the living room floor with the birds feathers all around him.But it was all only a dream and all it really did was give me a heads up to not ignore my dog, to take his feelings into consideration.

The only time I have dreamt of those close to me dying has been when I have been under a great deal of stress at work and I think this was my anxieties coming out. It gave me the kick to resign, though, as the job was doing me and my family harm.

I don't believe that dreams mean anything. I think they are just all of your thoughts rolled up with your imagination.

It simply symbalises an end to something in his life, and new beginnings. Maybe he is ending a job? Moving house?
