Casino Royale was and is the best bond film. It doesn't have all the gadgets like in the other films which makes it so good. The action sequences in this film is brill. I would definitely recommend this film above all the other bond films. And just to say Sean Connary was the best James bond EVER!!!

The top spot often goes to "Goldfinger" - that's a good one. Although most of the Connery ones are good.
Try something like "You Only Live Twice" or "The Spy Who Loved Me" to compare what you think of Roger Moore (who was a very different Bond, but had some good qualities).
There are some poor ones out there. No point avoiding, just find the better ones.
Thing is, people will tell you different stuff - you need to decide for yourself.
And don't take them too seriously, tongue often firmly in cheek, and that's half the appeal.

the early bond films with sean connery are all good, sometimes a bit dark, the roger moore films are too tongue in cheek and i think they are a bit dated. the pierce brosnan films are excellent, and casino royale? one of the best bonds ever, technically you should watch this one first as it is the begining of the bond character, but if you watch them in the sequence they were made you'll enjoy them more. as for carry on films, they can be a bit hit and miss, but again the earlier ones are best, my favourite is carry on up the khyber.

To be honest, as much as everyone seems to be in love with sean connery, if you havent watched them yet, youll probably find them boring compared to the later ones. If you do intend to watch all of them, then definitely watch them in chronological order. DO NOT watch Casino Royale first. It is not really a Bond film in the sense of the films, more like the books. Personally, My favourites are
1)The Man with the Golden Gun (Christopher Lee as a
villain = gold....pardon the pun)
2)View to a Kill (80's-tastic)
3)GoldenEye ( Brosnan -best Bond)
4)License to Kill (Contrary to popular belief, there is nothing wrong with Timothy Dalton.)
5) The Spy who loved me. (If you've seen this, you've essentially seen Moonraker, as they are practically the same story)

i love them all, i will say however that sean connery and pierce brosnan were the best of the bonds. casino royale was good, but i'm with holding judgement until he does a couple of more films. there have been 22, so there's no way i'm listing them all. go to imdb to get a complete list.

I really like the latest one with Daniel Craig as James Bond, it's the only James Bond movie I've seen, but it was hell good.

I think the best ones have to be Casino Royale and Goldeneye. Then if you like them, try some of the earliest ones, as they're pretty good.
