What determines whether you are a top contributor on Y Answers? How many answers/questions do you have to have? Does anybody know what it entails of? Thx!

No one in ANY category knows what it means.
They say it only shows up in categories you are a supposed Top Contributor in, yet it doesn't.
They say it is for being knowledgable, yet people with single figure Best answer percentages have it, while those int he 30-40% bracket don't.
They say it is for contributions to the site, yet there are level 1s with it.
The whole thing is a mess

I think your a top contributor when you just ask and answer in a particular category and continue to be there for a long time.

They secretly figured out a way to create class envy and struggle in a formerly classless environment. Thus developing the haves and the have-nots.
It is a sinfully brilliant way of creating open warfare in a formerly peaceful place (except for the politics and government sections).

a top contributor is knowledgeable in a certain area you become one if you get a lot of answers in a particular category right.

I have been designated as Top Contributor. But, I don't know on what basis it was done.

I think it's how many Best Answers you get in the categories plus the number of people there and their best answer count.....
I try not to think about all the fancy new gadgets being foisted upon us each month by Yahoo, whether we like it or not...

You have to restrict your answers to 3 categories & should have atleast reached Level 3
