everyone film that has an english guy, I notice he's made out to be evil, nasty and a total coward, does Hollywood/America really hate England that much? are the English or and English accent such a put off over there?

Because of not only the air of classiness, but they seem intellectually superior enough to be diabolically clever enough to be a worthy adversary. You just don't get the same feel is you bad guys are Joe Bob and Cletus.

Dude, there are a number of accents interior the flicks that are categorised as undesirable adult males alongside with individuals i.e. purple necks, Southerners commonly, Northerners and so on. no longer in basic terms the English. do a splash extra analyze. you will see they are not singling out the English.

well historically speaking the English have aggressively conquered many native peoples over the centuries and America did fight a war to rid us of the yoke of tyranny, so it's easy to see England as the bad guy ( i don't myself, but most do)

Jason statham, is almost always the good guy, or anit hero, of the movies he is in, and up in till Hugh grant came on the seen, most Brits in US movies were good guys, yes I know he always plays a good guy, or the ****** that you love, Heck most Brits hid there accents in US movies anyway.

I think it adds a sinister touch of elegance to keep them from being a common thug. Kind of gives them a proper air, even as they do the unspeakable ghastly acts like Silence of the Lambs.
I don't think it's that they hate the English as they envy their classiness.

not always.. i think the english accent is hot.. and so do many other people here in hollywood
