It was set at time when I was making more money. and I was to pay $2500 a month. now I make a lot less. how do I get that rate lowered.. I live in california. thanks

The kids are all grown now and my ex is remarried and just bought a new house. what I am paying now is because I am in the rears.

all you have to do is call your caseworker and request a new hearing for review of the case and its changes... for modification.

You will need to speak to your attorney. He will arrange a court date and you will have to bring income verification with you to show the judge that you are not making as much money as you once were. Be sure to bring with you your lease and any other pertinent bills so that the judge can reach a fair decision. Please do not just stop paying your support. If you have a good relationship with your ex maybe you could talk to her about your reduced income and that you cannot afford that much child support any longer. If not just struggle through until you can go to court. If she likes you and you have talked to her she may not fight the reduction. If she is not nice or if you two do not get along then she may fight the reduction.

you have to send child support a letter asking for a wage garnishment review due to making less money,it will take from 2-6 months to get a hearing

You need to justify why the change is necessary for example, you're income has gone down and the child has grow up thus expenses are high.

you can;t get it less you just have to get you job that pay Mort so you can keep up your child support your child have to eat

call up the agency and talk to them about your situation , they will point you in the right direction, whatever you do , do it quick , so you know where your heading.
