I have just brought a fish tank last week, 60l with heater, filter and light.
I left the (well) water in the for one week with a soloution to rid of any impurities, after this week i first put in 6 tetras 3 differnt kinds.
A few days later i put in 2 tetras fantasmas, 2 neons and 2 small white fish that eat from the bottom of the tank cant remember what they are called but they are only a little bigger then the teras.
now my question is do you think it is ok to put in 2 more neons and two fish that are about 5cm each very pretty again the names i cant remember but the next time i go the the shop i will ask.
I have only one fake plant at the mo but will be puttin a real one in hopefully this weekend so the tank is pretty much empty so as alot of space but as time go by i will be incresing the amount of aguatic plants.
thankyou for reading through it all

These are all schooling fish. 2 is not a school. 4-6 is a small school. Anything less is too stressful for the fish and will cause them to die. This isn't Noah's Arc, you can't put them in two by two.

At this point you have all ready put in fish, and then added more and if you have had no fatalities then I don't see any reason not to add any more fish.
Just keep checking the ammonia levels. B/C the biggest issue while setting up new tanks is that there still hasn't been enuff biological nitrite to breakdown the ammonia (fishes waste). The ammonia will kill the fish, so be sure that your ammonia levels are less than .25 ppm, before adding any more. And watch your ammonia levels for the next month.

Whoa! You need to slow down a bit. You have added too many fishes in to short of a time frame. You will need to get a test kit for ammonia and keep a close eye on it. The ammonia will go up high and then slow drop as the tank becomes able to handle the waste the fish produce. This is called cycling the tank and something you need to lern about to help keep your tank. Read up on it and you will understand where to go from here. Here's a good one page link that will explain it all to you so you don't lose your fish.

Hope this helps

So you have 12 fish total as of now? How many gallons is the aquarium?

As long as you do weekly water changes, and monitor the behavior of the fish, you shouldn't have any problem adding the other two.

There are kits to monitor the amount of ammonia in the water to be sure your fish are safe. Also, you must change the carbonated filter(s) on a regular basis. This will dramatically help cut down on the amount of ammonia in the aquarium.

When you go to the pet shop to get plants/more fish tell them what size tank you have and they will tell you how many fish you can have in your tank, they will know best as it's their job. It also depends if you just stick to small fish then you can have more, whereras if you have larger fish then you can't keep as many in the same tank. Hope this helps, its alot of fun having tropical fish they are so relaxing to watch x
