MSN Messenger noise - can I turn it off?

Is there anyway to turn off the sound in MSN Messenger, so that I can not have to mute my computer at work so that I can still listen to music, but not alert my boss to the fact that I am on Messenger?

Open Messenger, go to Tools - Options, click on 'alerts and sound' tab and uncheck the last two boxes. Apply and you're done.

go to Tools >> audio settings then from there lower the volume.
