It is said that he died of stomach cancer. There is controversy because a high level of arscenic has been analyzed in his hair. But this is believed to be from his heavy wine drinking ( casks were dried out with arscenic at that time ). The treatments that his doctors administered, enemas and treatment by antimony potassium tartrate were not good for him. There have been and are conspiracy theorists from all ages and this will surely be up to speculation and debate for time eternity.

According to the History Channel, he died of gastric cancer.

supposedly died of natural causes, but some believe he was poisoned.
