If you are injured at work and need to take time off....?

Question

does your employer have to pay you your full wages or are you only legally entitled to your illness benefit from Social Welfare?
(I'm based in Ireland)

I think this depends on the organisations policy, the organisation I work for covers me for 6 months but I know people who work in factories who arent covered for any sick days.

It depends on your contract, I dont think it makes any different (legally) how you were hurt and need the time off.
