what would -5--2 over -5+-2 equal? i got -3 over -7 but not sure if its right or not. and what is "p/q+r", tells me to simplify, do i leave it like that?

(-5--2)/(-5+-2)

-- is the same as +

=(-5+2)/(-5-2)

=(-3)/(-7)

=3/7

so you're almost correct, just need to simplify further.

(p/q)+r is in simpliest form already

(-5-(-2)) / (-5 + (-2))

I assume this is the question, this is the best way to lay it out because you can see what the value of each sign will mean

You are right because -5+2 = -3
and -5 - 2 = -7

So the answer is -3/-7
Which can be simplified to 3/7
