I was in shock. Here was this no more than 4'10 girl, very small and her stomach was very noticeable. She was talking saying she was 7 months along but then she was argueing with her mom telling her that she better buy her a new ipod.
Clearly i don't think this girl is ready to have a kid when she is one herself. Her mom seemed like she was more concerned about the whole doctor's visit than the girl.

Why would any mother allow this to take place and why are 13 year old's pregnant? I didn't even have sex until my wedding night which was when i was 22 years old, now 24 pregnant with my first baby.
I am at a loss of words about this, tell me what you think?

I think that it is a shame both on the parent's part and on the child's part (which that is what she is even though she is pregnant)
I think teenage pregnancy is a crying shame.
If she is more worried about a IPOD now after she has her baby she will be more worried about the lastest cell phone than she will be about changing diapers.

I have a 15 yr old daughter and I can tell you, I would be shocked if she came to me and told me she was pregnant- however- I would not judge her, I would encourage her to place the baby for adoption- that is what my birth mom and the birth mom of my 2 children did. I too was a virgin until I got married at 23- but that does not mean that every girl will wait, even though it is best. I have an idea- if this is making you so upset, why don't you support organizations that help teenagers that are pregnant- like Pregnancy Help Clinics- they are located everywhere. First of all the mother did not tell the girl to get pregnant- so do not blame her. Just because her mom would not get her an IPOD does not mean that she was not concerned for her. If it was my daughter, I would be concerned about the dr appointment as well- her daughter is going to give birth in about 2 months.

Most people do not wait until their wedding night in this day and age. My husband and I started having sex the month before our wedding. But the wedding was being planned for 6 months already. We married when I was 17, after graduation. But congrats to you on that.

I believe that if more parents knew where the kids were and what they were doing it would lower the teen pregnancy by about 95%. Parents need to step it up to keep the teen / preteen on track.

There should be a government program set up that allows underage expectant mothers and fathers to work part time jobs in a safe enviroment, after school and on the weekends. Some might say 13 is too young to have a job, however if they are gonna drop their pants they are old enough to learn how to save for that child.

My son is 15. He knows that if he has sex and She gets pregnant he will be working after school and all weekend every week and not getting ANY of the money. It will be saved and given to the mother when the baby comes. He said he thinks thats only fair and he would respect me for making him do that. But I know where he is at all times, so I dont see him having to worry.

I have told him the reasons to wait, and I have also gave him the safe sex talks. I gave him a bank card off my account , he used it to get a powerade after practices, and for emergencies. If he was planning to have sex he would buy condoms and protect himself and his girlfriend ( when he has one). He brings me the reciepts anytime he uses my card, or tells me what amount he spent.

Ok, were as i dont agree that it should be ok for 13 yr olds to have sex and have the possibilty to get pregnant. I guess since being a younger mom i can kinda relate and see things in a different perspective. Ppl complain that these young kids are going out and having sex.. getting pregnant. But i guarentee if there was a mothing in there taking thier 13 yr old to get on Birth Control you'd act the same way! So either way some mothers are screwed!

I have 2 daughters (7,6) and both my husband and i agree that when they get to a certain age (Period age) they will be going to the Dr and getting on some form of BC! Ppl see that as 'Oh you are condoning them and saying they can have sex'. That is absolutly NOT true. BUT.....

Whether we like it or not these kids are going to do it. As much talking, education.. If these kids want to.. they are going to do it! So i would rather my children BE protected against it...then just tell them 'its wrong' and hope they listen. ppl need to wake up and realize times have changed...

On another note... We are bitching about this girl having her baby.. But if she was having an abortion she'd be getting crap for that too. So like i said.. Either way in the situation the the poor girl and parents are screwed. Society has 'rules' set up and if it doesn go that way it's 'Wrong or Evil' Get over it! Atleast shes taking care of her mistakes.. for all you know she was carrying it and is giving it up for adoption after words. Maybe her mom see it as 'Even tho shes 14.. this IS my grandbaby' and is willing to help her take care of it!

Like i said.. im not condoning 13 yr old going out and having sex.. but if she was there getting Birth Control It would have the same reaction!

I got out of high school last year. And over half of the girls at the school were pregnant or had a baby.

When I was in middle school there was this girl she was 2 year younger then me, I was 14 she was 12 and she was pregnant with her frist. We ended up going to the same high school and by her last year she had 3 babys and another on the way.

Alot of girls are getting pregnant really early on in their teens. My girls think its cool to have an older boyfriend and those boyfriends take advanage of some of these girls and get them pregnant. It were is sad though to be that young and about to be a mother.

Times change, not necessarily for the better. Have a look at how the pop industry has taken over the kids, and listen to what 12 year olds are dancing to, and then be surprised that they're not all having sex before primary school. I think it's a good sign that we can still be shocked, though. Hopefully that will at least take some time to change.

i was 25 and married when i had my first kid a 13 year old should deffinetly not have a kid she a kid herself and the mother should try get her daughter to give the baby up for adoption to many kids having them to young and parents don't give a **** where are these older parents that were strict as hell and didn't let you get away with nothing not even back talking to them and weren't afraid to punish us when and where it was needed we need those parents today to many parentrs afraid of the law nowdays to discipline kids or they use this time out **** or other meek ways and that great but sometimes other methods are needed for discipline and parents are afraid to use them. appropriatly of coarse not beat the child but some kids need firmer methods like that 13 yr old if i seid something like to my mom at that age i knew i was in trouble you should have more respect for your parents and kids thgese days don't

u think thts bad, I read in the paper this morning a 12yr old & an 11yr old had sex infront of their class mates

I'm in the same boat as you - I married wen i was 22 and I was a virgin then - im 24 now and pregnant

I think sex is more important nowadays than an education & some girls in part of england think being pregnant and having babies is the IN thing to do.

Its apalling

i think it it only partly the mothers fault, if this girl wanted to have sex, she'd have done it anyway. i lost my virginity at 14, which dont get me wrong, now im older im so disgusted with myself but i cant change it, there was a lot of reasons i acted that way when i was her age, an alcoholic mother who wouldnt care for me and a father who worked abroad constantly who was blind to wot was going on. that little girl could have been me, i was just lucky. it wasnt till an aunt ook me out of the situation and made me realise i wasnt big and i wasnt smart to act the way i was, and i didnt have sex again for years. i knuckled down at school, went to university, im now 23 ive moved in with my partner and im now nearly 5 months pregnant.

you shouldnt judge children when you dont know the situation they come from cause they sre only children.
