Sometimes it's easier to"put up and shut up"
Sometimes it's just because you don't want to hurt other people.
Sometimes it is just laziness and fear of the unknown.
Mostly it's a combination of all three and more

a pertinent question for me! I've just had my bank account frozen and been hit with a very heavy fine after sticking with the same bank for years, against the advice of my family and friends. I knew they were shite, so why didn't I do something about it? I could give you umpteen other personal examples! Some people are more prone to putting up with unfavourable situations than others it seems! There is a concept in behavioural ecology called 'fixed action pattern'. This is the idea that animals often act in a predictable and habitual fashion. My girlfriend says that me looking in the cupboard and fridge every ten minutes is a fixed action pattern! Maybe the concept could be extended to included people's banking, shopping and even relationship patterns?!!! I strongly believe that allot of what we do is habitual rather than logical!

I think it takes courage to change and sometimes it even takes help and money and moral support. So, unless a person has some of these things they find it easier to stay where they are. It would be great to have a world where we all were willing to halp and give the maximum to others that need help but it is a ME generation more than it has ever been before and the division of the have and the have nots is a growing void in our society. This ia going to be our downfall. We won't survive without helping each other and greed is a killer of generosity, hope, faith and caring as well as all the qualities it takes to survive as people on the same planet.

I think that over time we can even get used to misery, and actually feel comfortable with what we know. If a man has been in jail for 30 years and is due for release, he may meet the day of his release with trepidation, and actually prefer to stay with what he had become used to and comfortable with.

Because human psychology is like this.
We r falling in love with people that they don't want us.
We work in places that makes us unhappy, and we do many things only because we suppose to do them, and not because we want them.
