Skeptics are not all bad. A skeptic would demand a supervised double-blind test of purported powers before investing life earnings in such a power. A scientist would look for other means (concentrated microwaves?) as an explanation and test for them. Of course many psychics claim that they can not perform in the presence of skeptics.
