I’m an absolute novice at internet business, but I just have to ask, will a merchant account provider take the time to explain to me the nitty gritty of how to deal with them?

Mostly they have to. If the account provider is trying to slip ur questions means he is out there for something!
So becareful.Lots of fraud take place in E-commerce.
There are few sites for safety transactions over the net but do take precaucious measures.

Example for one site for safety transaction: www.paypal.com

there are so many bank transactions take place over the net.

They should, because they’re making money from doing business with you, but then there will always be some who couldn’t care any less right? Try adult merchant pay, they were quite willing to help when I started.

They will if you indicate you need the explanation, and if they know that gaining your business counts on receiving that information.
