MP3 players other than ipods compatable with macs?

I want to purchase an MP3 player but am refusing to purchase another Ipod I spent a lot of money on my last one, only for the battery to die after 18months! However my laptop is an ibook, and a lot of MP3 players dont say if they are compatible with macs. I am particularly interested in creative zen or the new sony ones. Has anyone used a non-apple MP3 with a apple computer?

Check apple website there is a list there of compatible players.
Most seem to be the Creative Labs and SonicBlue players, so the Zen would be a good choice.
