Well, I was being asked this question by my niece 3 months in her first job and I told her that's because those jerks wear a mask throughout the interview stage, so that's how they get in.

Makes me think , u know. Sometimes, I also wondered, like "How in the world did this person gets to be my superior when he/she cannot perform?"

Any insights, anybody?

I think that they know how to talk the talk, say just the right things but when comes to preforming they are not able to walk and chew gum at the same time. Most of those people I wouldn't have put in charge of picking up dog piles in my back yard let alone, allow them to supervise a human being.

Most of them have no people skills, lets face it if your a supervisor you need to have good interpersonal skills or forget it.

I think that they know how to do a good snow job, and that's about all that they can do. They totally pull the wool over the person's eyes and they snag and bag the job. They are the I know it all's and don't know a flippen thing when it comes to being a good supervisor.

It is hard to work for some one like that, it takes a lot not to go off on them and loose it. It makes it even worse when they are younger than you are and you know that they are still wet behind the ears. It funny when the employees know the job better than their own supervisor, that use to happen where I use to work. We meaning the Officers use to have to pretty much train our Lieutenants how to do their job at our institution.

Some would come from a camp snoopy setting and they didn't know squat about working in a prison where we had inmates with three life sentences. Security, yea right that was a joke, if you weren't watching their every move. We use to laugh. They were usually put on the shift with the most Senior Officer Specialist on it, the Captain knew that the officers would take care of them.

Too bad we didn't get their pay for doing there job and ours. Oh well, at least we kept the place running smooth, and our backsides out of the fire. The Lieutenant just walked around looking like a little lost sheep, at least he kept asking us questions. We use to call him lock with out a key, lockness Lock N Load, shall I go on.....he just didn't have a clue! Thank God we did !

Some people have a great gift for BS. But once the job is obtained they can't hide their lack of intelligence and/or talent forever. Also, in my experience (I am retired now) the management department and bosses frequently prefer employees who don't rock the boat. They will choose them over more capable independent employees. No matter how good we think we are, keep the boss happy.

superiors are arrogant and think their better than everyone, but ask yourself if you were in that position would you act like some arrogant jerk to. or you could always become self employed and not have to listen to anyone.

They are very good in apple polishing, can you?
They never give negative answers to their boss! They are the "Yes men". Somehow bosses like them because these people never made their bosses look bad.
Their sweet and flattering words please the bosses.

the reason is because someone likes them, and it might not be you. or, they pust their way up by being a jerk.
