I'm an expert. I have a collection of 800 DVDs and I've seen the first half of all of them. Unfortunately I've only seen the second half of a few of them.

The reason we fall asleep is often more than simply because we are tired. It has its root in hypnosis. The trick that hypnotists use to convince you that you are falling under their control is to position something (like a fob watch) a little above eye level and ask you to watch it carefully. Your eye lids naturally become very tired.

When you watch television, expecially if you lie down, your eyes are fixated at an unusual angle. They become tired quickly.

Try watching while standing on your head --- I'll betcha you don't fall asleep.

I used to never be able to do that, and no matter how tired i was i had to stay up until the end and then i would crash, but since i had my son, i usually fall asleep during almost every movie i watch at night. i just get so comfortable and finally relaxed, and slowly drift off all comfortable, and even if i try to fight it, i'm so comfortable i fall asleep anyways. I've missed quite a few really good movies that way. and only a few movies are too long and boring (like gone with the wind.. sorry!)

Its funny I've done this a few times mostly because I'm tired but usually if I fall asleep to a movie I really have no interest in watching it again. Except the 13th Warrior I like that movie a lot but the first half hour is hard to choke down hahah.

Yes I have. It happens for my all the time because I'm getting older and my mnd cannot watch a movie on DVD in one sitting. But at the movie theater I hardly fall asleep.

well sometimes when I do this ( I tend to watch movies before or while im in bed)
I am usually really tired from the day and so I doze off.
but if I have watched the movie before...it usually bores me cause I know whats going to happen & all that stuff so then I doze off.
:)

I fell asleep a couple of times, mainly because I was real tired.

No, but my partner does all the time just from not getting enough sleep (although he gets at least four hours a day more than I do).

Sometimes it's boring, too long or you are simply tired.
