I will tell you about my first impression of Japan.
When I arrived at Narita airport, it didn't seem that different from any other airport except for the signs which were in Japanese and English. My first impression as I stepped outside the airport was that all the heads are black, and things were smaller. I got into one of the economy vans they have here and sat in the from passenger seat. The driver drove like a maniac up an incredibly narrow mountain road (after getting out of the city jam). My fist shock was when he came around a bend in the road and another car was coming the opposite direction. Instinctively my body tensed up bracing of the imminent impact and I slammed my foot into the brake, but nothing was there and the car passed us harmlessly on the right side. The driver just laughed at me.
