Hello there.
It will depend a bit on the reason that you had the miscarriage to begin with. If you miscarried because of a condition that still exists and it is unlikely to go away then you may very well run into the same problem again. The kinds of things that would cause reaccuring problems would be scarring of the tubes, endocrine problems and things of that nature. In a first time miscarriage when there is already one perfectly healthy sibling at home, it was more than likely just a fluke where the embryo was imperfect for some reason. Mother nature can be cruel and your body will sluff off an embryo that has some imperfection.
That being the case there is no reason in the world to think that it will ever happen again. I have known women who miscarried and got pregnant 6 weeks later and had a happy healthy pregnancy! There is really no reason to wait if you are in good health and ready to have a baby.
I am not suggesting that another baby can take the place of the one that you lost, it is just does not work that way. There will always be a sad spot in your heart for the little life that was not meant to be. But I do know that your next baby will be just as precious to you and will go a long way to healing that ache in your heart.
So, keep trying. When the time is right everything will just come together. Good luck honey and try to enjoy this precious time in your life. It is an adventure that you will never forget! Try to have a good attitude, think good thoughts and this time everything will be fine!
Love and Blessings!

i had a miscarriage 2 years ago and i fell pregnant again in nov. 2006. i looked into this a lot because i was really worried about another miscarriage as i wanted the baby and took it badly the 1 st time.
there is a 20-25% chance that some one who has miscarried will miscarry again. however i think this is only due to problems with ovaries etc. my miscarriage was due to blighted ovum which is just that it was bad luck that the egg that got fertilised had abnormalities for no real reason.
once you are past the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, the chances of miscarriage drop dramatically too.

The chances are the same as a person who has never had one. This is why, sadly, many woman have 4 or 5 miscarriages before it is investigated. I have been pregnant 4 times and my two pregnancies that went full-term (happily) are the two that I bled a lot and thought I was going to lose!

Apparently one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage these days, but most happen so early it's never noticed. A miscarriage is generally because the developing foetus is either deformed or not viable, so your body simpley removes it. I know that thought is not going to make it any easier though. I think your risks are the same as everyone else, until you have three, and then you have a fifty fifty chance of every pregnancy ending in one. Those figures are pulled from my memory though, and may not be accurate.
the healthier you and your guy are (not smoking or drinking, you taking folic acid) the less chance of a non viable foetus, especially him.
Good luck, and just relax.

Every pregnancy has a 15-20% chance of miscarrying before 12 weeks regardless of how many miscarriages you have had in the past.
Please try not to worry, this won't help.

I had three miscarriages and then went on to have 2 very healthy little girls.
Every pregnancy is not to be taken lightly as things can go wrong as you well know.
Try to be positive and good luck.
