First, the explosure of the island by Srivigayan price paameswara. Making it's presence aware by others.

Second, Sir Stamford Raffles paved the way for Singapore to become a modern port and established its status as a gateway between the Western and Eastern markets. This brings the country to a "modern" status at that time period.

Third, departed from Malaysia Federation. This is a key step to urban settlement. Former Prime Minister Lee, stepped up and took the country to a whole new world - total Independence.

Forth, people united together, dispite races, religion or believe.

Fifth, Law enforcement. Stictly laws and enforcement, make the country a safe place to stay.

Sixth, most citizens are obedience to the laws. Cooperation from it's people helps to stablize the country.

Facing severe unemployment and a housing crisis, Singapore embarked on a modernisation programme that focused on establishing a manufacturing industry, developing large public housing estates and investing heavily on public education. Since independence, Singapore's economy has grown by an average of nine percent each year. By the 1990s, the country has become one of the world's most prosperous nations, with a highly-developed free market economy, strong international trading links, and the highest per capita gross domestic product in Asia outside of Japan.[

Read the memoirs of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore first Prime Minister (now Minister Mentor) entitled " From Third World to First, The Singapore Story: 1965-2000, Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew (Vol. 2)". The book traced in great detail how Singapore progressed since independence in 1965.

Sir Stamford Raffles want to take a leak badly. There are stories he had VD and probably the clap. The island he landed was Singapore. Like what he saw and turned it into a crown colony. Some refugee from Palembang is claiming he is the one who remake Singapore.
