I have to find the weight of 2 kilograms of yogurt.
If you could, please just explain the process. I want to try and get it myself.
Thanks!

The weight is the gravitational force which is applied to a mass in a gravitational field such as that of a planet.
On Earth, the value of the gravity field is g = 9.81 Newton per kilogram or meter per second square.
Weight = Mass * g

The mass of an object is defined as being its weight in kilograms on the earth's surface. So, 2 kilograms of yoghurt weighs 2 kilograms. You want the weight in some other unit perhaps?
Newtons? F = ma: Simply multiply the mass by a, which is acceleration due to gravity- 9.8 ms-2
Answer is 2 x 9.8 NEWTONS. This is the standard unit of force. In basic units it would be called a 'kilogram metre per second squared'

The weight is the mass multiplied by acceleration of gravity which is g =9.81

So weight of 2 kg is 2*9.81 =19.62 N

Take care of unit!

You've got the correct numerical value. That means you know how to go from mass to weight. I guess you are confused about the units. Well weight is measured in newtons. Now that is the SI unit of force and this is the answer buddy! Because weight IS a force! So naturaly the units are newtons. Hope you got it now..

Weight is a force, so its unit is Newtons

Mass = weight x gravity acceleration

m = w * g

Since g = 9.8 m/s^2

therfore 2 = w * 9.8

Therfore w = 2 / 9.8 = 19.6 Newtons

Weight is Mass multiplied by the acceleration due to gravity. Acceleration due to gravity(g) is 9.8 m/second^2.
Got it....

2 kilograms would be the right answer.

weight=mass+gravity

2kilograms = 2kilograms weight or 2*gravity(19.6) newtons

if u r given mass of 2kg then it will be = to 2KG WEIGTH or
in SI units it wiil be = to 2*gravity ie 19.6 NEWTONS
