I have an 834GT and it performed similar tricks on me during the autumn. I tried rebooting after it jammed a couple of times - then i tried the firmware upgrade several times but after a week or two i'd notice that flashing yellow connection light - then just after Christmas i upgraded to an 8meg connection........within days i found i was down to 0.1 meg. So i tried an old Voyager 105 this allows the connection to recover after a couple of days, as 8meg connections rely on a stable line and a decent modem. Netgear suggested logging into the Wan set-up and changing the MTU size down to 1440, 1400 or 1300 and disabling the port scan. Best of luck, i've tried every combination i can think of and have just mailed them asking for a replacement.

Have you checked your Download speed??? Try below.

1. www.portforward.com
select your models and see detailed instructions.
