Switzerland and Singapore have been rated as first and second non-corrupted countries according to a recent survey

As long as there are politicians there is no record of a country free of corruption. Of course some have lesser corruption practices. African countries are some of the worst corrupt with the head of the country richer than the state!

None. THe question is which country has the least corruption. I would tend to believe smaller countries has a better grasp to thsi problem. I think the UN has a survey on this, but its geared more for business. I think Singapore did well.
Here's a report. Its biased though. http://usinfo.state.gov/xarchives/display.html?p=washfile-english&y=2004&m=December&x=20041209144834mbzemog0.1225244&t=xarchives/xarchitem.html

I would not say US or Britain would be a good example. THe corruption may be fewer, but they are a lot larger. Both have very recent allegation of severe corruption. England - Arab arms deal. US - Katrina clean up.

The sad thing is no country is free of corruption. There are some countries that are better than others, but the fact is people are corrupt by nature and poverty in a lot of places.
The countries with underpaid civil servants, etc. are breeding grounds for unethical behavior. In Mexico they call it "la mordida" the bite, when you have to pay off a civil servant or cop to get out of a bind, real or one that they created to snare you.
The higher standard of living and better pay for civil servants in more industrialized countries can discourage this, but as with all things human, it does happen. Sad but true.

I am sure all countries have some problems in one form or another. But the socialist countries in Scandinavia seem to have it pretty good.
