I've been reading a lot of people's responses on here and I think it's pathetic how a majority of them give some crappy answers to clearly get points. Even some of the "top contributors" say a bunch of nonsense. So I'm just curious in whoever answers my question whether or not you are just giving some fluff answers to get points or whether you truly want to help someone with your answer. In my opinion, points aren't going to get you anywhere but give you a higher number that's good for nothing and waste your time, whereas sincerely answering someone's question could make a difference to them somehow.

I think many people are interested in obtaining points or filling some type of void in their lives. Obtaining high points over time is one thing. But it's impossible to have a social life if you're on here every hour for hours at a time each day. Maybe the point system gives some people a sense of purpose, or avoids loneliness. Who knows? I'd trade yahoo points, for time with friends and family each night any week. Also, I do believe some people truly want to help others.

Yes, you are right my friend! Most people do that! And you are also right that its better to give a sincere answer to solve the problem!

What do I do?
- I come to yahoo answers when I am free and I need to pass some time.
- I come straight to society and culture section.
- I look in the list and choose the questions that I like, that hit me, that I think the asker may need my help and if I do, he may get some matter resolved.
- I answer questions and when I get tired, I stop.
- I see the clock, its almost 5 hours.
- I say good bye to yahoo answers.

Hope thats enough

to help
to educate
to tease
to punish
to be sarcastic
to be friendly
to get a best answer
to vent your displeasure
to give an opinion
to dispose of knowledge
to corrupt
to make a point -or two -or ten
its a mix of a lot of things
just like the questions ,are a mix of a lot of things
the only way for you to know the answer to your question is to go in peoples profile pages and check their best answers ,and the not best ones as well
then you have a base to voice your opinion
a brief glance at what comes before you is limited to just that,

In my opinion even a "stupid question" deserves an answer from the heart; how can you help someone be a bit different if you act like him? Trying to love all people we'll answer with patience and love their questions...I know there are a lot of things to be done, we are weak but we can be strong with HIS help!

I truly try to help. I agree with you though it is hard to know who is trying to help and who is just being an a**. Some people on here really need to grow up.

if the question is sensible, I answer to help
