supporting a war and supporting the troops in your opinion?

I have tried and tried to find an answer to this, but the only thing I can come to is that they are not one in the same. And since I have served as a proud member of the United States Armed Forces (Air Force, 3rd fighter wing, North Carolina), I can't help but wonder why right wingers throw this crap around about the left wing not supporting the troops. Why is this? I am honestly curious. And don't give me any of your right wing left wing bullcrap. I am neither and don't care about your political views.

My belief is that supporting the troops is paramount and should be beyond supporting any war. The reason for this is that a President has a choice to declare war or not,
Congress has the choice of voting for the approve of war or not. While the troops have no luxury of choice, they are deployed and they fulfill their duty with great bravery to the best they can. So my opinion is a disagreement with a war should not be extended to the troops.

Supporting a war to a large part depends on someones view of right and wrong. Ulimately every war is simplified to a struggle of right and wrong. In this paticular war, the Left do not think that fighting this war is right due to reasons such as going after a country or person that were not in the first two positions of sharing the responsibility of 9/11. The Middle America is now moving towards regarding this war as wrong because of indication that we were lied to about the reasons to go to this war. The Right thinks that war of right and wrong is Islamic radicals vs us. To a little degree all them are right and to a little degree all of then are wrong.

What I feel about the Rebulicans is that they support the troops only to send them to a war. I feel if you support the troops you support them having all needed equipment and body armour, having a well thought out war plan, and having an exit plan. Having respectable VA benefits, healthcare, pension and payrates. Having legislations passed which would defer their home loans, car loans, credit card bill deferred when they are in active duty.

I think respect and support for the troops should be felt in your heart first and then displayed on your bumper.

I'm greatly thankful for all that you do for me and my family, and also for all that you may do later. Thank you so much.

Supporting our troops means to work hard for their safety and welfare, both while they are on active duties as well as after they've been disabled/wounded and require care. It also means to help their families as much as possible while they are away as well as when they are on disabilities.

Supporting a war means you want to sacrifice your safety, comforts and monetary resources so they can be channeled to the war efforts. Example: During WWII, our people rushed to enlist in doves, went through food and gas rations, collect scrapped metals and rubber etc.. to support our war against the Nazis/Fascists.

From what I can see, very few if any of the people who currently claim to "support our troops" or "support the war" really do what they claim. Those cheap ribbons ain't it!

Yes war is when you fight over issues and try to win as well as gaining control over the situation. Supporting the troop is like when you help troops who are fighting in war or trying to restore peace to the country and trying to bring infrastructure in working order. its a kind of second in command.

Hello! Please see my question "If someone told you?" a girl tried answering my question but it's off topic and appears she's on a tangent...however there are few things in her very very long bandwagon that may help to answer your question. It's more useful to your question and rather than plagarize her I figured I direct ya to the source!
