Tony Blair, roused the country out of another "Winter of Discontent". I'm not quite old enough to remember the previous one but I know about this one. He swept to power on a wave of enthusiasm really. People voted for anything that was different. They wanted change and gave the Labour Party it's terms in office to prove that they could do it.
Had you asked what Margaret Thatcher had done that was positive, I could write reams for you. Unfortunately she was ahead of her time. If Tony Blair had done the things Thatcher did, in his time in office, no-one would have complained.
People so wanted things to be different that for a long time, the believed everything they were told. Then came Iraq. Before Iraq, Tony Blair was muddling along nicely, do a few good things and generally returning this country to order. After Iraq, people are baying for his blood. Do you get out and vote? How many of those who are discontented, actually bothered to vote, in the last election?
I voted but I didn't vote for Labour. The point of this is, that in a country where voting is not compulsory, if you wish to complain, get out there and vote.

National Minimum Wage: some jobs paid only £2 an hour previous to this
Peace agreement in Northern Ireland: London doesn't get bombed and I would never have been considering visiting Belfast ten years ago
There are more but some people seem to misunderstand the question or don't know the meaning of positive.

Historians will discover it confusing to make a unmarried judgement about Tony Blair as best Minister. they are going to settle for that he kept the Labour party from a added lengthy era contained in the electoral desolate tract inspite of the truth that his faustian %. with Rupert Murdoch and massive organization. they are going to applaud his area contained in the Northern eire peace procedure and could pay recognize for the regeneration of the familiar public facilities that he and Gordon Brown have accomplished. they are going to, besides the undeniable fact that, damn him for his lack of ability to to forsee the consequences of enticing in a conflict fought for the incorrect causes and and not using a reliable effect. they are going to see him as George Bush's lapdog. area of his failure will be placed right down to the way he looks overawed by technique of superstar. His premiership has been tainted for the time of by technique of his favor to be on the fringe of those at the moment in fashion or those with funds. From the initial, a lot derided, attempt to carry the numerous gamers in 'Cool Britannia' into determination 10 Downing highway, through his a lot reported holidays on the residences of growing older entertainers like Cliff Richard and Barry Gibb, and his courtship of Bernie Ecclestone (the formula One chiff) and Italian best and media multi-millionaire Berlisconi, Blair has succumbed to the attraction of the prosperous and well-known. it truly is truly accessible that historic previous will view his courting with George W Bush as yet another party of this trend.

Not a lot, and yet he came into power with such promise!
When he is gone he will be remembered for his getting us into Afghanistan and Iraq, and for having that fat slob waste of space John Prescott as his deputy. And of course his legacy will be with us for a while, presumably, in the shape of that tax-happy Gordon Brown!

He has let off misbehaving ministers.
He has let off MPs who fiddles their expenses.
He has increased MPs pay way beyond anyone Else's pay rises.
He has shown that this government is morally corrupt.
He has replaced parliament with an unelected group of advisers and become a defacto president.
So his biggest achievement has been in promoting corruption.
