Just waited 1 year and spent £2,300 with nothing at all in return with a local designer, now just posted $650 to a big USA company, again nothing and no help and now another USA company wanting upfront payments for hosting....are there any honest people left on the internet? cos if a person says white now i will assume it's black.....

First guy was a good liar, saying it will be ready next week blah blah, 2nd was a big company that posts adverts for designers and does a "safe transfer" system it has thousands of members and a high profile and the last sheesh !just more promises, yeah were going to court, but would just be nice to find a person who does what they say on the tin. Thanks

Thanks i gave u all the thumbs up...my 2nd payment is stuck in an escrow safe box with the big USA company and i can't even get a reply off the facilitator so i would be wary of the Rentacoder suggestion but thanks to all!

I wouldn't send money to anyone i didn't know... why don't you get a web designer to come around to you and tell them what you want. And don't pay any money until they have produced results

Yeah the IT fields have been getting flooded with rip-off artists or @ssholes. I say it's because they're paying off or paying for all the stupid Certs they get/got. D@mn specialists!

There is hope though...

not all of us s()ck or take your money and run.

My significant other and I have our own business together fixing computers and doing web design. We do not give quotes based on this and that which can come back to bite a customer on the but. Instead we give flat rates. We try our best to be the most affordable and still support our selves paying bills LOL.

If we can't do the job or can't fix it we let you know and we don't charge. Why would someone be charged if nothing is done? That's dumb, and bad business practice. Hello, report those b@stards to the BBB!

Anyways, you can check us out at:
http://www.duelwave.com

(We will be up front with our limitations since we are a small home based partnership business, and we're students still, so technically we're still learning, in other words don't expect us to know die hard stuff like ASP.NET)

I hope this hasn't ruined your image of ALL web designers or IT people for that matter, there are still honest up front people in those fields. Of course alot of us do tend to be lazy LOL, but that's no excuse for what you went through.

::: Peace :::

there are a lot of good companies out there. the best thing to do is find a website you like and look below for who the web designer is and maybe ask them to build u a model for your website. then you decide if you want it or not, Dont pay before since they will definitely tell you that they will keep the money for the work we did. so better pay when you see the work done.

try this web designer, the company is based in Malta Europe but has websites allover Europe and the quality of their creations is damn good

if you check their portfolio you can find their creations
