I don't know for sure, but I think this is trying to say that money can be both good or evil, depending upon how it is used. It is not inherently evil, but it can be used for evil purposes, such as killing others. It also can be used for good, such as contributing to charities and using it to improve society. Thus, what you do with money is the important thing.

Probably a reference to the fact that money is only worth as much as you can exchange for it.
