"Wuthering Heights" means, more or less, "Stormy Hills".

The title suggests things being upset, brought out of order, anger - basically all those things that Heathcliff brings to Catherine's family (and they to him).

"Wuthering" means stormy and windy in the local dialect

It think the title would be referring to upheavel in the upper class! Although I haven't read the book!

The book is about Catherine and Heathcliff theirvery passionate love for one another, and how this unresolved passion ruins them both.
The novel also deals with socialism, rebellion, and revenge.
