True appreciation for what we have would die too. We suffer to learn. We suffer to make ourselves more human and more giving. We would lose much.

Without suffering there would be no cause for hope. There really does have to be pain and horror in order for love and happiness.

It's horrible but it's true. Maybe you could be happy if you never knew what it was to be unhappy but you could never appreciate the value of that happiness.

Without the most extremes of suffering we have nothing to guage the most extremes of pleasure (and I don't just mean the "sinful" types).

If no one suffered there would be no balance. We couldn't suffer in our happiness, we couldn't feel a loss or long for something else, but we would never really know true joy, either.

The birth of your child would be no more emotional than the all-too-early death of that child.

If you don't suffer you can't hurt from the death of your child. If you can't hurt from that death, if, even, there is no concept of death, or whatever (sorry, but all deaths of loved ones hurt), then what is there to be joyous about in the celebration of life?

It would be a really sad world because no one would know what happiness is....

If you know what's hot then u know what's cold..... if you don't have two reference points you cant compare.....

Only when u suffer and when u r sad or u see other people sad or suffer.... then only you realize that you can be happy or realize what happiness is....

No more excitement. If I can't be hurt then why not jump off the building, shoot myself and bash my car into the telephone pole. Life should be hurtful to an extent but yeah we do need to remove alot of the useless pain that involves growing up...

No one would learn. If no one suffers, we wouldn't know the beauty of life, the real beauty of pain and defeat, and the real beauty of victory.
