I own a shop, and can think of several things. A loss of power can be caused by a worn out timing belt, a plugged up fuel filter, a plugged up air filter, and fuel injectors that are in need of cleaning. These are the most common reasons for this problem. It could be some mechanical problem, but not likely. Try putting some fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank, and have the fuel filter changed, as I would think these are the most common ones. If after you have rulled out the obvious, and it still has the problem, then start thinking about a new timing belt.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

May be a bit wierd coming from a girl, but I had that with my car, and it turned out I needed a new Turbo. To start off with it only happened every now and then, and then it went all together....Hope this may help.

must get a compression test done,if its low the engine will be goosed. if you got it from a dealer check your warranty and take it back,if you bought it private and the advert tells you that the car is ok their is still a way to get your money back, check the auto-trader for advice.
