Yes, she resisted arrest and attempted to assault the police. She got what she deserved.
What do you expect the police to do, sit back and let people attack us? Maybe you should all have a go at arresting a drunk person, it isn't easy. Or maybe we should stop trying altogether and let those drunk people assault you and smash your cars up. It amazes me how many people become so called "experts" when they see a grainy piece of CCTV footage.
Hitting someone is a legitimate use of force if they are resisting arrest or trying to assault you, but then of course you'd know that if you were police and not just Keyboard Kommandos.

As an ex police officer of 30years service it is refreshing to read so many answers in support of the police for a change. The officer concerned as not denied hitting the woman and apart from the usual liberal groups who assume the police guilty before proven innocent it would appear that the officer is receiving the backing of his force and the public who along with myself think this is reasonable force.Let me tell you from experience that arresting a violent woman can be much worse than a man in many cases and was once kicked in the privates by a middle aged upper class woman ..I wwish I had'nt been such a gentleman and hit her.

Yes. If the woman had stopped resisting arrest after the first punch, it wouldn't have been necessary to punch her four more times.
The police officer obviously didn't punch her hard enough the first time.

This woman had just put some blokes car window through. Then she resists arrest so much that it takes somebloke 4 punches to stop her resisting, then she keeps going and going. She propably scratched the face of the poor policeman. Lets be honest prevention is better than the cure. If she had not put the car window through, if she had not resisted arrest she would not have bben punched. Its alright for you armchair supporters saying she has been assaulted but in my opinion, if she had gone lightly she would not have been punched, if she had not smashed car windows she would not have been punched. Behave yourself and it won't happen. Put yourself in the shoes of the copper who was trying to arrest her. Not easy is it. She got what she deserves. You reep what you sow.

I watched that this morning on the TV and it appears that she had already caused criminal damage and was acting violently.
We forget that the police are right at the forefront of these things and put themselves into harms way constantly - she may have been carrying a broken glass or anything. If she was behaving and acting violently then no she needed to be subdued before she caused anymore damage to property or harm to individuals. It would be interesting to know why she was thrown out of the club for firstly.

An examination of the footage clearly shows that the officer delivers a series of bottom fist strikes, twisting his body so as to strike nerve clusters in her left shoulder or arm - not her face. This is because she would not stop resisting and/or would not let go of the officers. She is on the cadge...I hope she doesn't get a bean.

Yeah, she was drunk and damaged someone's car to the tune of £250, as well as resisting arrest. She is quoted as saying she was shocked when she saw the footage, this implies she couldn't remember the incident as she was out of it, or that it looks worse than it was cause she didn't find it that bad at the time. Should someone in her condition (epileptic) be out at clubs getting blind drunk? She got what she deserved (also the officer is hitting her arm, not her face, he's just trying to get cuffs on her, he didn't want to be in that situation, she started it)

Unless you where there, even if you see it on video, you will not know the whole story and/or the reason force was applied.
Don't rush to judgment. Sound and video clips are edited all the time and can not be trusted.

The case is under investigation, we can only judge by the limited information we have been given by the media. Unless we actually witnessed the situation,we are not qualified to judge.
Lets wait until the investigation has taken place, and then use our judgement to decide if abuse happened.

It didn't look like it I know...
but i don't jump on the 'fcuk the police' bandwagon either, so i'll give the benefit of doubt to the Police until they have made an investigation.
People need to remember, Police are not SUPERHUMANS, some makes mistakes like us, but we shouldn't label them all the same.
