Newton, principia is considered one of the greatest works.

Just from a general view, the revolution at Newtons time was much more significant. Relativity doesnt effect everyday life as much, and we still cant even test all the predictions etc.

Newton had huge contributions to mathematics and mechanics, as well as optics.

Taking keplers laws and coming up with the inverse square law for gravity isnt easy

Both had different perspectives and opinions about the world. To some extent , Einstein was considered as the "most genious" rather than a normal genious. I guess there is a difference between the both. But I m sure that Einstein's theories involve inexplicable mathmatical equations which apparently were only solved by Einstein. Newton was just a major figure in the history of science.

I do not know about Newton, but Einstein (private) life was a mess (he paid a price there). On the main stream (in science) Newton systematized what was already invented by Galileo, while Einstein interpreted what was already invented by Lorentz. So Galileo and Lorentz set a pioneering work for the other two. If you asked whose inventions had bigger impact on human life (technology) it is definitely Newton. (I am a bit exaggerating, however, the question is pretty provocative and plain.)

I don't think you or I (or anybody) can judge that.
Consider that Isaac Newton made ground-breaking discoveries for his day and age.
So did Einstein for his.
I must say they were probably equally gifted.
Have you heard of Richard Feynman and Stephen Hawking? Two more GREAT scientists...

Genius/intelligence is measured by the use of person's intellect. If you look at what the individuals had to work with I would definately say Newton.

well i think newton becuase he was inspired b that falling apple. personally i love einstien...but his idea was many other peoles idea before his. he just added up all the information. i may be wrong becuase einstien came up with string theory...and came very close to proving human existnace before he died.

I think einstein was but he was only smart in the physics area, he failed misirably at school.

einstein was a true genius.... gravity was already there...newton did not invent anything
