Good idea, every little bit helps. But I feel what good is it, that the little change in greenhouse gas emissions is nothing compared to those let into the atmosphere from fossil fuels! You know, we're being told by the government to not waste water (ohmigod! it's running out! and we've just decided to do something about it now!), when the water shortage isn't from overuse, but instead from it being redistributed elsewhere on this planet, due to the effects of global warming.
Anything that puts pressure on the government, and brings awareness to the people regarding this issue has got to be a good thing. Hope it works!
Have you read "We are the Weather Makers" (by Tim Flannery)? If you're interested in the environment, it's well worth spening $20 on. Very depressing, because it doesn't sugar coat the truth, rather points out that global warming actually isn't a new concept!
The government doesn't care because this country is making too much money. Why the hell are we still driving petrol driven cars? Why not have our public transport using magnetic energy combined with solar power? Too much money to set up, and no fuel needed, so no tax paid on tax there.
Global warming is an issue that angers me...if the earth was 'cooling' as opposed to 'warming' I'm sure there would be more done about it! What can we do except if anyone reading this hasn't already, contact your power supplier to get your greenhouse gas emission to zero by getting your power from a renewable energy source (not fossil fuel), and if your power supplier charges you more for this - go with someone else!!!

It is a good idea
& its not true about it taking more power to turn the power back on
you burn more power by leaving lights on
they don't believe that theory anymore
people should start now & not have many lights on anyway & use those long life bulbs
& don't drive much

If everyone does it! Will they be in trouble if they don't. We turn as many light out as possible @ work on third shift to save electricity so it is a good idea.

I think it'll be awsome to see, I think it is a wonderful "come toghether" sort of thing, except for the fact that turning all those lights off and on again, takes more juice than it takes to just leave them on....
