You need to give some more info. You want a bike to commute, just to play around, go off-road...or what.

You can get a "pocket-rocket" and they go pretty far on a gallon of gas.

You might want to check out this site: http://www.bikez.com
And take a look at the 80-150 cc range. They won't blast it on the freeway or anything, but they'll handle commuting, and they sip lightly on the gas.

Nearly all motorcycles are economical to operate. My 1100 gets 50 MGP and work is a 125 mile round trip. Course sometimes you have to make modifications like getting more air to the carbs. For just inner city riding a lot of the scooters get great mileage and can keep up with traffic. Go to different manufacturers web sites and see what they have to offer.

Less displacement (CC's or cubic inches) = better mileage.

Best sportbike is Kawasaki Ninja 250R. If you want a cruiser/standard, Honda has the Rebel and Nighthawk.

The smaller the better. Cheaper on gas, tires, parts, you name it.
