Hmmm. That's a tough one!
I would narrow it down to Charlize Theron, Hilary Swank and Helen Mirren. Between those, I can't really choose, especially since they're all such different roles!
I would say that Charlize was the most surprising and the most daring, Hilary the most challenging and Helen the most skilled and interesting.

Either Hillary Swank in Million Dollar Baby or Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line. Swank would be my top choice. Did you see her in Boys Don't Cry? That was a powerful performance as well.

I really think JULIA ROBERTS ' performance in Erin Brockovich was outstanding. It was totally believable.Until she played that roll i thought she was only an average performer suitable for light hearted and comedy parts.

I would have to say : Halle Berry in Monster's Ball.
She gave a really emotional performance in that movie.

Monster , because I cant stop crying when the movie ends , her performance is flawless
