Koalas' five fingers per paw are arranged with the first two as opposable thumbs, providing better gripping ability, for the front paws, and one thumb with two attached index fingers for the hind paws. The Koala is one of the few mammals (other than primates) that has fingerprints. In fact, koala fingerprints are remarkably similar to human fingerprints; even with an electron microscope, it can be quite difficult to distinguish between the two.

I'd say you can eliminate birds and fish, so we're down to land-based animals. You can at this point eliminate most things that slither and crawl such as reptiles also.
Really, I would think it's a mammal, something kinda furry or hairy with warm blood but not domestic like a cat or a dog, but something that lives in the wild, maybe hangs out in trees.
