Can ny one tell me what were the regulations concerning the minimum quantity of halon to be stored onboard ships for a total flooding system? (that's b4 halon was banned...)

it was 12 % of the cubic of the space protected......
for today's permitted gasses ( HE 241) see www.kidde.com for the formula to convert cubic foot protected to pounds of cylinder

That would vary with the size of the boat.Original Halon system is acceptable at inspection if in good shape .

IMO (SOLAS).

Halon is not accepted when registering a ship.
