this question is certainly of invalid nature as both bands belong to absolutely different genres.
metallica-hard rock
linkin park-nu metal
but keeping aside above mentioned fact then, in terms of fame, profits earned and experience, Metallica wins hands down.

What kinda question is that!!!???? Metallica and it isn't even close. There is nothing wrong with pinkin lark (as I like to call them) but they only have a few really good songs. Metallica has a ton of them.
