Cash, but if I got to smoke down with Willie Nelson, I'd skip the Cash show in a heartbeat.

To me Willie Nelson is the better picker while Johnny Cash is the better lyricist, but its a tough call, their both great.

Willie. While Johnny was a rebel - and that is a good thing - Willie seems to have a lot more heart. The kind of guy I'd like to spend a day with, just walking, talking, having lunch, etc.

My vote goes to Willie because of his writing and playing style being so unique.
He is also very active for the American farmer, and operates a eco-friendly bus!
Willie has had a prolific writing career, and among others wrote "Crazy" for Patsy Cline, which is one of the ALL-TIME greatest songs in country music.

Why not both. Toss in Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, and you get the Highwaymen.
