There are a handful of men here where I live who have gotten wives from the Philippines. One is old and very weird, has this laugh like heHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA that makes you just cringe. Used to come in where I worked a few years back, show her off to everyone. He liked to tell me all about how wretched his wife's life had been before he "saved her", how she'd never seen a dishwasher or central heat and air. She seemed sweet but she didn't exactly look at him like he was her savior in a shining aura of light either. None of them are guys I'd go out with.
I think they get them because they can't handle American women who aren't going to be impressed with a man just because he has a dishwasher and central heat and air. Sadly, they don't seem to care that these girls are looking at them as a means of survival, and not an object of adoration.

There's usually a variety of reasons a man gets a mail order bride. Yes, many of these guys just can't get a "home town" girl, for whatever reason.
Marriage, at least until recently, was viewed as more of a business arrangement than a love and romance thing. The "mail order" situation can work out well if you think about it like that. He may be too obnoxious to find true love here, and She may need to come to a place that would give her more opportunities in life....so they strike a business deal. Hey, why not?

Possibly. More probably that they are not in any social group where they can meet other people. Quite often they have been in a relationship which together with work took up most of their time. The relationship has ended and they do not know where to go to meet people, have limited free time available and are just lonely.
Most companies providing this service only act as an introduction service between the two people in different countries and do not offer brides for sale as such. When the two meet they may form a relationship. When you understand that they are both actively looking for a relationship it is quite likely that one will form. How stable that relationship will be depends on many factors but the introduction method isn't really one of them.

maybe but sometimes they want a girl from another country because of the easy way it's done and he may like the culture. there is a show on tv about it called "mail order brides" check that out for some incite

Not exactly. Men get mail order brides simply because they are not able to find suitable brides in their local country. You see, the working life of men have changed. Women have dominated the high managerial positions and men are not able to find wifes with equal status. Thus men get mail order bridges mostly from low developed countries like Cambodia, Vetnam, China for instance. It is not the women's fault but blame it on the society. Its a changed world so we have to make the better of it. Good luck.

no because normally the mail order woman are allot better behaved and less spoiled than there American counterpart

thats just one reason. they also do it to get woman who is gona have to do EVERYTHING for them just to stay in the country.
