I know nothing about coins and have never auctioned anything on eBay before. But according to an Assoicated Press article on March 7, approximately 50,000 of the new GW dollar coins that are missing "In God We Trust" were put in circulation. The article states, "They're going for around $40 to $60 on eBay now, and they'll probably settle in the $50 range." I'm guessing that an uncirculated bank roll of 25 of these coins would not necessarily contain only coins with the error. In other words, there is no easy way to obtain enough of them to make much of a profit auctioning them. Am I correct?

The mint knew there would be so called error coins due to the way they had to set up the edge lettering for today's high speed coinage presses. In that case are they really errors. 50,000 coin errors or not are a lot of coins and if there are actually that many there will be more. It is up to you, but I feel it is dishonest. I have heard though, fools are easy marks. I enjoy my hobby and over the years have done quite well, with out going for the gimmicks that pop up every year. Just my opinion.

The 50,000 In God We Trust missing coins have probably been snapped up already. So your chances of making a profit are slim to nil.
