yeah like i said kilometer and kilometer per hour or meter per hour... like this example... "they are two trains,the rabbit heads north on the expressway at 45km exactly 12 minutes after he panter follows at a steady speed of 54kph,how long does it take the panter to overtake the rabbit? like that thanks!!!

Well it's just like miles per hour, same thing just a kilometer is a bit shorter than a mile, and there are 1,000 meters in a kilometer much like there are 12 inches in a foot.

It's all about distances, the per hour term refers to the speed at which the distance is covered, thus an object moving along at 10 kilometers per hour is moving just fast enough to travel exactly 10 kilometers in one hour, much like if you were riding in a car and your odometer reading is at 000 miles and you drive steady at 60 mph then in exactly one hour your odometer will read 060 miles because that is how it works.
Although a mile and a kilometer are not the same, you can use them interchangeably for this exercise.
