I watched it with my 17 year old daughter as i am trying to diet and loose weight and she is wanting to just keep fit and tone up. We both said we wanted to reach for the buscuit tin after that!
I felt Louise did a good job however thought that she is on was well on the way to having eating disorders and going to see the people she did just stopped her especially the young girls. The 12 year old hiding herself with cusion while on camera was so tragic.
We noticed two things one she kept a diary so we could see a book coming from this.
Two although they showed her shopping if you could call it that and once eat a meal of fish and steamed veg in a restraunt they were VERY careful not to show us WHAT she actually ate which I though was sensible as girls could copy but it was obvious that green lettice was just about all she ate with a few token things put it.
Our opinion after was well that would put anyone off dieting and as for that keep fit man from America he needed hung, drawn and quatered for his comments and if he things size zero is wonderful he needs shooting!
We will keep to our normal keep fit programme and remain curvy average size 12/14 thank you.

I think well done to her for doing this programme (and re-gaining the weight she lost afterwards) because I hope this will have highlighted the not-so-glamorous side of size 0. What I found most disturbing was when she went to that hospital for young girls with eating disorder. I felt really sorry for those young girls, especially when they pleaded with fashion designers to use models of size 10-12 instead because their lives wouldn't be so miserable. For a young teenager to think like this is awful. Life shouldn't be miserable at that age (or at any age for that matter!), they need to focus on their school work and making friends. I think that fashion designers are the guilty part here, not the models, not the model agencies and to certain extent not the media. If the designers were making their clothes for normal women then none of this would be happening and people wouldn't be hissing at models or whenever they see a very thin woman on the street. I was absolutely shocked to hear that Denise Van Outen was told to lose weight in L.A. as the competition is really fierce out there. I can only hope that with time, this torture of women will go out of fashion and clothes will be modelled on normal size women.
This programme was certainly very educational.

I thought that she didn't need to lose any weight as shes slim any way , but it was done under supervision and many women don't they just lose weight by starving themselves.
But it was intersting to see how the lack of food made her change her moods and energy levels dropped, she said she was always tired and struggled to look after her young son properly.
I was shocked to see her visit to the place where the young girls were getting treated for anorexia. At 12 years old I was still climbimg trees and not obsessing about how much weight to lose.
Theres too much pressure on being thin and clothes designers should make clothes to fit normal sized people not grown women with a body the size of a child.
For most people that is not normal as they have a shape that is womanaly. there is the odd few women whot are naturally slim and I have a friend who is but I have seen her eat and she can eat loads more than me. She's naturally slim but not stick like she has boobs and a bum.
I was glad to see at the end it said that she has gone back to her weight before she started and didn't get stuck into the size zero thing and carried on with the extreme diet

A lot of you are missing the point. You speaking like Louise wanted to loose weight. She didn't. She did this programme to show the affects extreme dieting can have.
She said heself that she felt really bad and was irritable and fell out eith her family for no reason. You saw an example of that when she was really annoyed at her dog for barking once.
She also said that she did it to stop young girls trying to reach a dangerous and impossible amd if the programme stopes one girl from straving herself it was worth doing.
And at the end it said that in the next two months after doing the diet she did a supervised diet to put her weight back on and is now the size she was when she started.

I'm happy as a UK 18 thanks! What does puzzle me though is why some guys think it is comforting and even like cuddling up to walking bone bags. Women should be curvy and have padding.
I do feel sorry for all the unhappy girls out there who have eating disorders, wish they could see that they are beautiful no matter what their size is, we are way too obsessed with the whole size thing today.
And a big thumbs up to Jean Paul Gautier who used a size 18 model this year in the Paris Fashion Week back in Jan, wish more designers would follow his example to prove that big can be beautiful.

I missed this last night but I don't agree with people trying to be size Zero's
I am 5ft 3 and a size 8 (UK) and people always tell me I am to thin but I eat more than all my friends who are bigger than me but still get all the comments like "what do you have for dinner a carrott" or "you need to go on the Mars Bar diet" (I wonder what they would say to a size Zero???)
I went to the nurse once to see about getting a diet to help me put weight on and she laughed and said that I was the first person to complain about being slim.
Sometimes people don't understand that it is just as hard if not harder to put weight on as it is to lose it and us slim people get offended by the snidy remarks about our weight as well.

I watched it and thought how amazing it was when she said at the ned that she loves her normal cureves ... hello? She is a size 8 normally!!! I have more lumps and curves on my ironing board.
All that aside it was incredibly thought provoking and sad really. I am a well rounded built for comfort type girl and nothing is further from my mind that being a ridiculous size ). Teh degigners have a lot to answer for - mainly hidously over priced clothes made for ill looking stick insects.
OOh it makes me cross

Hi I watched the programme.
Lousie is really fit, and didnt need to lose any weight. She did look awful when she was size 4 uk (size 0 U.S)
However....
I am a uk size 4, BUT am petite. am only 5 foot tall. (22yrs old) I dont do any dieting and only to exercsise 2x week.
But a lot of people said am perfect size for my height. Even Dr said my weight is fine-which is 6stone 12lb nearly 7 stone as am small.
So it really depends on the height to. i think height makes huge impact on your size.
If your over 5"3 and size 4 then you are underweight
I also forgot to mention
"Barry's Bootcamp" in U.S he should stop encourageing people to lose too much weight!!!

The world is mad! I don't agree with the size 0 thing, but there was a question up a week ago about Betty Ditto the singer from the Gossip. who is about size 22 and the comments on her were terrible. People were calling her fat b*tch and disgusting pig etc. So what do you do you are damned if you do damned if you don't. Why are people so hung up on the size of people its like the last form of racism it makes me sad.
