I'm thinking it has to do with pursuing the unattainable, the thrill of victory (actually getting to sleep with/ entertain with the married man) and the low self esteem (I must be worth something if he would be willing to cheat on his wife with me). Little do they know that a majority of the time they are not the first and definitely won't be the last.

There are many reasons for girls doing this - not just one or two. A combination of a bunch of reasons could lead to a girl doing this.
Like someone before me already said - some girls do find safety in flirting with and/or dating married men. Alot of single girls don't really want a full-on committment which makes married men a very save bet. Another reason is for money yes. Yet another reason is the fact that younger girls find married guys a challenge.
For whatever reason though - single girls do flirt with married men and it remains his responsibility to say no.

Wow, some people have very big opinions on this don't they? Not always the single girls fault!!!
Well some single girls out there do not just prey on married men because its safe or non-committal life ... some actually fall for these guys, whether these guys are married or not, they are entitled to a second chance in life if they are genuine in the relationship.
But some of these married guys do prey on single girls to make themselves feel good and hurting these girls in return, as they always go back to being in their safety zone ... back to their wife!!!! And leaving these poor girls scared to commit to another relationship!!!

watch out for the great magician in the sky! if you do adultery he will strike you down with lighting and then allow for a tail to grow on you! LOL. i just love when these situations get those answers with no other justification other than a single minded moral code. seriously, i am married for a second time and my relationship started with her while i was married to my first wife. i was miserable in the marriage and this woman gave me everything i was looking for. it wasnt easy for her, my ex wife, or myself for that matter. however, we went ahead with it and bottom line was that we made each other happy. im stating this just to give a balance to all the other answer that probably you are going to get in the same tone as the first one. however, here is the fact that tells me that this man is all talk and no essence. once i was sure that i was in love with my then "mistress" it didnt matter if in a divorce i was going to loose the house, the cars, even the dog's sh*t for that matter, the only thing important was that i wanted to be with her. material things, i could work for them again, what i couldnt replace was the relationship i had with my new love, that actually became the love of my life. honestly, i believe you get involved wiith this guy and all you are going to do is step into a mess that will prove not worth it in the end. believe me, is hard enough at it is even when true deep feelings are involved. i lived it and i wouldnt want anyone else to go through it unless is really what both want to do with all their heart. there is always going to be someone hurt. the battle and constant emotional struggle is not a walk in the park and takes a toll in everyone involved. peace

Lol well i think some like to play with fire,,,Manning they know they can, an if cough, can lay The blame off on the married man,,,2th they know most married men, know more the the siglen men,... to they know they safe,, an some just like to cause trouble in a married

The same reason married men hit on single girls.... they lack self respect, values and morals.
Of course it's obvious this doesn't apply to ALL men or ALL single girls!
Another reason why single girls may hit on married men is because they see them as stable and potential mates, regardless of what it takes to make them theirs.

They are looking for the replacement for their daddy. Now that's not meant in some gross incest way. Girls grow up wanting some one like their father. So they will sometimes go for older fatherly types. Now that is some not all.
