I have silicon implants and that was one of my main concerns before having them was being able to breastfeed. My surgeon assured me you could breastfeed without any problems as if it was not done through the nipple nothing has been damaged to affect breastfeeding.

yes. The implants do not interfere with the milk glands or ducts. But if it was me I would not breastfeed if I had silicone in my body. It could be a future health issue for the baby even tho researchers deny it.

yes, in most breast augmentations the milk supply is not harmed. There are many pending studies about the effects that silicon has on the quality of milk and if it will ever harm the baby, as far as i know (and i stay pretty recent on studies) nothing has been proven as of yet. I have had many patients with breast implants that have breastfed with no problems.

Yes, as long as her milk ducts were not damaged she should be ok. The best thing to do is talk to your plastic surgeon and see what he/she says about your surgery. I had a breast reduction, even though the surgeries are different, my OB/GYN told me to contact my plastic surgeon and she could tell me better. I hope it works out for you. Even if you are able to give your baby a full serving of breast milk, you can always supplement. Good Luck.

I think it depends on the method of implantation- if the implant was placed through an incision to the nipple then the milk ducts may be damaged/severed and the answer would be no.

I believe it's possible... but with the implant, what ever it's made out of, the mammory gland should still be attached to the nipple and be able to feed the baby

As long as the nerves in the areola/nipple region aren't severed and permanently damanged, the answer is yes.
