i'm sorry that your pal had lost her passport ..i've got had an analogous concern in Singapore 3 years in the past. What a headache! definite, Standtall and waterdancer are genuine, easily make a police checklist right this moment and visit the French and US Embassies. In my case it befell in the process the weekend so it took me 3 days to get my non everlasting passport to get in another united states of america. That deffinitely taught me to be very very careful ... existence sucks and not using a passport once you're in a foreign places united states of america! ;)

All he has to do is to go to the nearest police station to report the loss and then with the police report, go over to the Nigerian embassy or consular to get a identification paper of citizenship that he is a citizen of Nigeria.

with that piece of paper, he should be able to get on board of the flight to fly home

Normally a foreign's passport found will be handed over to the Police. You can call the Police and left your contact with them. When someone found it and hand over to the Police, they will know how to contact you.

it is probably impossible to find it unless he is really really lucky and someone turns it in.he should call the embassy and notify them they should provide you with a replacement or if you need to travel in the early future hopefully they will provide you with assistance and papers to sort it out
