I don't want my laptop to be faulty because cleaning up normally requires water.

Thank you.

Use a lightly damp soft cloth wet with only water. Damp to the point where it feels moist but will not drip when wrung out. Do not press had on the screen, better to go over it a hundred times then to mess up your LCD. You never want to use a solvent of any kind and try to avoid cleaning over vents and ports. Use canned air for the vents and fans to get the dust out from the inside. While you are cleaning your laptop case, now would be a good time to also do a system clean up. Remove unneeded files, defrag the hard drive and scan for maleware.

Get a canister of dust remover...it's basically air under pressure, to blow anything out from under the keys then use a Swiffer or the like to go over the keys (make sure the computer is off so you don't punch in some crazy code by accident) and inbetween the keys.
